Michael Bustard

Michael moved from Hartfield to Friston in 2016. He has adult daughters and three grandchildren.
Michael retired finally in 2025, spending the last thirty years leading his Management Development Consultancy, was also a Non-Executive Director of an Engineering Company and Non-Executive Chairman of an Agricultural Partnership.
He is a Director of a company supporting the School in Surrey, where he was a Governor for 7 years.
He was also a Trustee of the Poppy Factory for 6 years.
He chaired Horam Parish Council for many years, sat as a magistrate in the criminal and family courts in East Sussex and was also Vice Chairman of the Sussex Eastern Bench. He was also a member of Wealden District Council’s Standards Committee and a member of East Sussex School Appeals Panel.
Michael wants to help ensure that East Dean and Friston maintains its unique character and heritage, continuing to be a special place in which to live and work, whilst developing the Parish in line with residents’ aspirations.
