Jonathan Greenway

I was co-opted to East Dean and Friston Parish Council in May 2024 as someone who has taken an interest in Parish affairs since arriving here at three days old in the winter of 1962.
Earlier I was a member of 1st East Dean and Friston Cubs and the Youth Club which met in the old School - building canoes was one of our projects. I joined H.M. Auxiliary Coastguard Birling Gap at 16 and served for ten years in the rocket and cliff rescue team following in my father’s footsteps.
I am a member of the South of England Hedge Laying Society, the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and the local Laughton and District Agricultural Society. I have a small agricultural interest locally but not in the Parish and have a background in aeronautical and electronic engineering.
I am currently serving as the Parish Tree Warden. I am interested in the local history of our villages and attend Jevington church as well as being keen to support our active Parish Council with a particular support for activities for connecting people, supporting our young people and for assisting business endeavours.
